2Day 1- Yangon to Loikaw and Loikaw sightseeing
Pick up from your hotel in Yangon and transfer to Yangon domestic airport. The flight will depart from Yangon at 0730 AM and arrive to Loikaw at 0830 AM. Upon arrival, you’ll transfer to your hotel. (Official check-in time is 14:00PM and early check in is subjected to room availability).
After that, we’ll visit Kayah State Cultural Museum to discover some detail on the tribes of Kayah State, as well as their varying traditional dresses and weaponry; perhaps its most interesting feature is the centraltotem polethat is also a major feature of many of Kayah villages, an animist tradition pre-dating Buddhism or Christianity. Please take note that Museum is closed on Mondays and public holidays.
Afterwards, we’ll visit Thiri Mingalar Market, Sunbon Village, Thiri Mingalar Monetary and Christ the King Church. Then, continue to Taung Gwe Pagoda to enjoy the sunset and panoramic view of Loikaw.

After breakfast, you’ll take an one hour drive to Pan Pet Village where the home of Kayan Community (long neck women). On arrival, you are welcomed in a local home where you will enjoy a hot drink and a local snack. Then, you will set off on a moderately challenging trek, through lush, shady, forest. After a short climb (30-40 minutes), you’ll enjoy over 3 hours of continual, great views.
En route, local guides will show various edible plants and herbal medicines which are used by community members in their ‘jungle larder.’ A highlight of the trip is arriving at the original settlement of Pan Pet, perched on a mountain top, where evidence of past habitation is visible. This is considered one of the first Kayan settlements of Kayah state.
Enjoy jungle picnic lunch on the way.
The trek ends in Rang Ku hamlet, where guests can meet the famous Kayan people (also known as Long Neck Karen), who are a symbol of Kayah state. Enjoy learning a few words of Kayan language and interacting with these fun-loving and artistic people. There are also opportunities to buy local handicrafts. Afterwards, you’ll transfer back to your hotel.

Day 3 – Loikaw – Taunggyi – Kakku – Inle Lake
Pick-up from your hotel, approximately 3 hours drive toward Shan State, Taunggyi to visit the countryside inhabited by the Pa-O people lie the ‘lost’ ruins of Kakku, a pagoda encircled by dozens of small stupas. Little is known about the origins of this unusual place – the Pa-O believe that the original pagoda dates back some 2,000 years. Wander through the stupas which are decorated with fine stucco work and Buddha images – some in good repair, others not. Visit a Pa-O village and a large monastery on the way to Taunggyi. Lunch at local restaurant. Continue from here to Nyaung Shwe or Inle Lake and drop off at your hotel.
Day 4 – Inle Lake sightseeing
After breakfast, your guide and boat driver will take you to Inle Lake. Visit Inle lake by boat, among many others, the following points of interest:
The floating gardens and the floating market (if it is a market day) & Ywar Ma Sliver Smith Workshop. The Phaung Daw Oo, an 18th century buddhist shrine of major importance in Myanmar. The Nga Phe Kyaung Monastery, and see it’s jumping cats. The Impawkhon, where you will experience the craft (and art) of weaving lotus, one of the most expensive textiles on Earth, as well as silk, cotton and other mind-bogging applications of Myanmar craftsmanship. Lunch at Royal Palace restaurant on the Inle. After lunch, visit Sword making workshop, Cheroot & boat making workshop. Return to the hotel. Over night at your hotel in Nyuang Shwe, bank of Inle Lake.
Day 5 – Kalaw & Pindaya sightseeing
After breakfast, check out from hotel and drive to Kalaw. Visit Kalaw Market, Kalaw Station, Church & urrounding.drive to the beautiful hill city of Pindaya. Visit the main Pindaya Caves, with its thousands of Buddha images from all around the world. Visit a local umbrella workshop. Then drive to the Danu Village House for a demonstration on how to make tea leaf salad by a Danu lady. Pindaya is famous for having the best tea leaf salads and the best soy products in Myanmar. You can taste 2 different styles of tea leaf salads in simple style and in Danu style salad, fried soybeans, fried potato chips and other traditional snacks with Shan Tea. And then walk through the village to spend time with local family that will introduce you to tea plantations and how they grow, harvested and picked. A Danu lady will explain about tea process. Walk around Pindaya tea plantations and proceed to heho airport. Fly back to Yangon.
